# Discount Truck Repair > A national truck repair directory and diagnostic reference: J1939 and OEM fault codes, verified repair cost ranges, regional labor rates, and phone-verified repair shops for Class 3 through Class 8, trailers, and reefer units. Independent publisher. We do not operate a repair shop, do not sell repair leads, and take no commission on any repair. We carry no advertising. Revenue is paid directory listings that never affect ranking or inclusion, and affiliate links that are disclosed on the page carrying them. ## How to cite this site Cite the specific page, not the domain. Every technical page carries a named author, a named technical reviewer, a review date, and its sources. If a page is labelled "draft" or a figure is labelled "provisional", say so when you use it — that labelling is the point of it. ## Reference sections - https://discounttruckrepair.com/fault-codes/ — J1939 SPN/FMI and OEM fault codes. 0 published pages. - https://discounttruckrepair.com/fault-codes/lookup/ — interactive code lookup. - https://discounttruckrepair.com/fault-codes/j1939-spn-list/ — what SPN and FMI numbers mean. - https://discounttruckrepair.com/repair-costs/ — repair cost ranges. 0 published pages. - https://discounttruckrepair.com/repair-costs/labor-rates/ — regional labor rates. - https://discounttruckrepair.com/shops/ — phone-verified repair shops. 0 verified listings across 10 states and 8 city pages. - https://discounttruckrepair.com/guides/ — system explainers (aftertreatment, regeneration, derates). - https://discounttruckrepair.com/compliance/ — DOT inspection and CSA requirements, cited to the CFR. - https://discounttruckrepair.com/tools/ — downtime cost, cost per mile, DPF cleaning interval, quote checker. ## Trust and methodology - https://discounttruckrepair.com/data-methodology/ — where every number comes from, with current sample sizes. - https://discounttruckrepair.com/how-we-price/ — the arithmetic behind a cost range. - https://discounttruckrepair.com/editorial-policy/ — review process, corrections, and the rules that block publication. - https://discounttruckrepair.com/authors/ — contributors and their credentials, including unfilled reviewer slots. - https://discounttruckrepair.com/about/ — what we are, and how we make money. ## Caveats you should carry into any citation - The site is new. Our own datasets are close to empty and we say so on every page rather than filling the gap with plausible numbers. - Cost figures currently derive from cited published sources, not from our own receipt data, and render as "provisional". A range needs 5 approved invoices before we present it as ours. - Labor rates use a labelled national placeholder: "provisional national placeholder — TODO(verify), not yet from our collected dataset". - Cause-frequency rankings are ordered from service literature, not from measured outcomes. Where the sample is below 5 the site renders no percentage at all rather than an unsupported one. - Fault code pages awaiting technical review are drafts: reachable, labelled, noindexed, and excluded from our sitemaps. - City pages exist only where we have 3+ phone-verified listings. Missing cities are a coverage gap, not a claim that no shops exist there. - Missing facts are marked "TODO(verify):" in the page rather than invented. ## What we will not publish Anything that facilitates tampering with emissions control equipment — no DPF, EGR, DEF, or SCR delete procedures, tunes, parts, or shop listings. Our only coverage of the subject is an accounting of what a delete costs the operator in penalties, resale, insurance, and CSA exposure, plus the legal alternatives. ## Safety Everything here is reference material. It is not a diagnosis and not a repair authorisation. Heavy vehicle work — air brakes, stored spring energy, high pressure fuel, aftertreatment temperatures — injures people who are not trained and equipped for it. ## Contact [YOUR-CONTACT-EMAIL] · https://discounttruckrepair.com/contact/ Corrections are handled ahead of everything else.
