We do not have a Texas rate yet

Sample size is zero. Calls are under way, and no hourly band publishes for Texas until the sample clears our floor and part of it has been cross-checked against submitted invoices. The figures below are the national placeholder every cost page falls back to — they are not a measurement of this state.

A fabricated state band would be undetectable by a reader and would quietly corrupt every repair estimate on the site, because the hourly rate is the multiplier under all of them. So the gap stays visible. If you have an invoice from a Texas shop, it moves this page faster than anything else can.

Class 8 tractor

$125–$210/hr

national placeholder

Class 6–7 medium duty

$110–$185/hr

national placeholder

Class 3–5 and diesel pickup

$95–$165/hr

national placeholder

Source of the bands above: provisional national placeholder — TODO(verify), not yet from our collected dataset. We have no Texas call-out figure at all yet, so none is shown — a roadside minimum varies more by operator than by state, and guessing at it would be the least defensible number on the page.

What drives the rate in Texas

Texas is crossed by more major interstate freight corridors than any other state. The Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin metros form a dense triangle with deep heavy-duty repair capacity, while the I-10 run west of San Antonio and the I-20 run west of Fort Worth have long gaps between full-service shops — which is where mobile call-out fees matter most. Laredo and El Paso carry very heavy cross-border volume and have shop networks oriented around it.

Every commercial motor vehicle operating in Texas is subject to the federal annual inspection requirement under 49 CFR 396.17, and Texas additionally requires commercial vehicles to pass a state commercial vehicle inspection before registration. Roadside enforcement follows the North American Standard inspection procedure and the CVSA out-of-service criteria. TODO(verify): current Texas DPS commercial vehicle inspection scope, fee, and which vehicle categories are exempt.

Freight corridors through Texas

Where you break down inside a state moves the bill as much as which state it is. Rates on a corridor with competing truck stops and several independents run below the same work at a dealer two hundred miles from anywhere.

  • I-35
  • I-45

  • I-40

TODO(verify): no defensible sample yet. Rates print as "collection in progress" until sampleSize is above zero and the figures are verified against submitted invoices. Local context: I-10, I-20, I-35, and I-45 all cross this state, and rates split sharply between the metro triangle and the west Texas corridors.

Verified shops in Texas

We call every shop before it appears here, and publish the date.

Sample records only — seeded to demonstrate the directory. None of these numbers has been called.

Had this repaired? Tell us what you paid.

This band improves every time somebody sends an invoice showing what a Texas shop actually charged. Quoted rates and charged rates are not the same number.

No account. No email required. We publish aggregates only, never your invoice.
